What is OrionChat?

OrionChat is a place for real-time, one-to-one conversations—with optional video when both people agree. We focus on presence and quality over endless feeds.

How do I create an account?

Use the Join button to register with email and password, or sign in with Google if your administrator has enabled it. You can choose a member or host path when you sign up.

How does video work?

Video starts only after an explicit request and accept. Either side can decline. You’ll be prompted for camera and microphone permission in your browser.

How do I find people to talk to?

Browse discovery to see profiles, interests, and who is available. Start a private chat from a profile you like.

What if someone behaves badly?

Use reporting from the relevant context. We review reports against our community standards and may restrict or remove accounts that violate them.

What data do you collect?

We store what you provide for your account and conversations, and operational data needed to run the service. See our Privacy page for a short summary; a full policy can be expanded as the product matures.

Can I use OrionChat on mobile?

The web app works in modern mobile browsers. Install shortcuts or add to home screen for quicker access, depending on your device.

I’m interested in hosting—where do I start?

Read our For hosts page and register with the host option. Your profile goes through review before appearing publicly.
